...more Common Sense

The below is from friend and advisor, Jeff Lokken (a man uncommonly chock full of common sense) who works as a principal for Financial Investment Management Group [link: www.fimg.net].

Comments follow below:

The common sense of problem solving without a bureaucracy...what a great vision.

Would leaders have patience for trial and error...case by case. Letting people make mistakes while imperfectly improving. Some thoughts on accountability and assessment might be interesting. Accountability and assessment needs to measure the speed and movement toward improvement not just the expected result. We seem to shoot problem solvers too quickly and let bureaucrats hide seemingly forever.

The Japanese call this Kaizen. http://www.valuebasedmanagement.net/methods_kaizen.html

Have a great day!

Jeff
