I have been President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston since January, 2002. Before that, I was Executive Dean for Administration at Harvard Medical School (1998-2002). Earlier jobs had nothing to do with healthcare: Adjunct Professor at MIT; Executive Director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority; Senior Consultant with a telecommunications regulatory firm called Economics and Technology, Inc.; Chairman of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities; Director of the Arkansas Department of Energy; Deputy Director of the Massachusetts Energy Policy Office.
