The Orlando Sentinal reports that prescription drugs are being seized in florida. Rep Nelson fears this is the Bush Administration's ploy to push seniors into using the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage benefit.

What we miss of course is that almost every other industry is using volume based purchasing, yet that provision is not part of the Medicare Program. The more effective policy to deter importation of prescription medications is to assert the power of the marketplace.
