Reasonable Fees, Class Actions and Transparency
Judge Haunghney has ruled, that there was no clear deceptive pricing in the case of the Oconomowoc/ProHealh Care lawsuit brought by McLaughlins (Wisconsin). Hospitals (and presumably other healthcare providers) are allowed to charge differential rates. That's the good news for providers. Said differently, there is no basis to challenge that prices differ across different payer classes. Yet...
However, and here's the pinch, the judge left open the door to proceed with the case on the grounds that the chareges may be unreasonable (as interpreted by a jury...should it go that far).

So where do we stand when provider prices get posted as will be required by transparency laws? Will the public(in the court of public opinion) agree that the price we charge is with the value received?
